Irwin Creek and Stewart Creek Greenways

The Irwin Creek and Stewart Creek Greenways are part of a larger trail network in and around uptown Charlotte. This designated segment of The Thread connects Seversville Park to Irwin Creek Greenway which is located near Ray's Splash Planet.

Description

This 1.4-mile segment of the Thread Trail is comprised of a both paved and gravel surfaces. The Thread Trail segment is part of a larger network that provides connections between many amenities and destinations including Uptown Charlotte, Frazier Park, Ray's Splash Planet, Wesley Heights, Bruns Avenue Elementary School, Seversville Park, and the Phillip O. Berry Recreation Center. The trail head is blocks away from Johnson C. Smith University. Walkers, runners, and bikers will enjoy exercising along this trail, which at various points, provides appealing views of the creek. 

Herons, ducks, and other waterfowl have occasionally been seen along the banks of the creek adjacent to the trail.

Learn to recognize poison ivy, which commonly grows along the edges of trails, fields, and rivers. If contacted, use soap and a washcloth to vigorously wash the oils from your skin.
