Trail Tips

Slippery When Wet

Some trails will be slippery after a rain or if they are covered in fallen leaves. Watch your step!

Parking Address: Parking is available at Elizabeth Park. MAP. From there, the Uptown Cycle Track can be accessed by a 0.25-mile ride north along Little Sugar Creek Greenway to 7th Street.

The Uptown Charlotte Cycle Track (Phase I) runs from Little Sugar Creek Greenway at 7th Street to the Charlotte Rail Trail. This 0.9-mile protected bike lane is the first phase of the longer planned Cycle Track that will provide a continuous greenway to greenway connection.

The completed Uptown Cycle Track will span Uptown Charlotte east/west and provide a connection between Little Sugar Creek Greenway and Irwin/Stewart Creek Greenway. This project aims to help Charlotte reach its vision of becoming a true city of bikes, balance needs of all modes of transportation and curb space users, increase safety and comfort for cyclists and pedestrians, and increase accessibility for cyclists of all ages and abilities.

To learn more about the Uptown Cycle Track and to read updates about Phase II, visit City of Charlotte's project page.

Trail Tips

Avoid the Ivy

Learn to recognize poison ivy, which commonly grows along the edges of trails, fields, and rivers. If contacted, use soap and a washcloth to vigorously wash the oils from your skin.
