Description

"Everyone can enjoy River Park's environmentally sensitive 70 acres on the pristine Catawba River. Several miles of wooded trails, including handicapped accessible trails, wander through the park and along the scenic river. You can enjoy a picnic while observing plants, birds and animals in a peaceful undisturbed setting." Rock Hill Website The River Park-River Trail segment of the Carolina Thread Trail runs along the Catawba River connecting to the Riverwalk: Piedmont Medical Center Trail at the Riverwalk Tressle. The River Trail is rubberized and handicapped accessible.

At the trailhead, there is a public canoe/kayak launch. The Rock Hill PTR Paddling Program offers programs throughout the year. The Moonlight Kayak event is one of the most popular family events through A.L.L. Outdoors  of Rock Hill.

This portion connects to Riverwalk: Piedmont Medical Center Trail to the River Park for a 3.3-mile walk with continuous Catawba River views.

River Park Currently Closed Due to Improvement Projects

" River Park is closed due to improvement projects estimated to conclude in late spring 2020 (weather dependent).  Users of the Piedmont Medical Center Trail along the Catawba River can access the trail via Riverwalk and the Catawba River Trailhead (100 Celriver Rd.) which has restrooms, a water fountain and parking."
