Description

The .2-mile portion of the Carolina Thread Trail is in the Southside Park in Newton, NC. The active park has a "walking/jogging trail, open air amphitheater, numerous picnic tables, play area, two picnic shelters, two sand volleyball courts, two horseshoe pits, informal ball field, and a large open play area for soccer, kite flying, badminton, frisbee, etc." - Newton, NC Website The trail is lined with carvings in the various tree stumps. The carvings and bordering creek make the trail all that more interesting.
