Various neighborhood and pedestrian access points make this walking, running, and biking trail easily accessible. The Thread Trail segment is .8 miles, although the greenway network extends a little further.

The trail provides access to the Don B. Montgomery Memorial Park, which has a playground and baseball field. This segment is also considered a rail trail because of its proximity to old railroad tracks.
