Ride Safe

When biking, wear a helmet and use a bell to signal your approach to other trail users. Consider bringing a spare tube and pump so that you can fix a flat tire and offer help to other cyclists in need. When riding on roads, bike in the same direction as traffic.

Description

The Town of Cramerton extended Goat Island Greenway . This extension is called the River Link Greenway which will add .7 miles to the Carolina Thread Trail. The River Link Greenway winds along the banks of the South Fork River. At the end of the greenway is a boardwalk that leads to a viewing area overlooking the natural wetlands.

The River Link is connected to Goat Island Park. "Goat Island is home to a paved, handicapped-accessible greenway which stretches seven-tenths of a mile around the island. This walk can be extended in the pedestrian-friendly Greenwood neighborhood to the west or through downtown Cramerton to the east."Gaston Gazette. Goat Island Park is connected to the Town of Cramerton with a bridge that spans the river on both sides connecting the River Link Greenway to the Goat Island Park Trail.

The River Link Greenway will parallel the South Fork River and will run underneath Wilkinson Boulevard and connect to Goat Island Greenway at Goat Island Park.
