Description

The McEachern Greenway in Concord, NC connects downtown Concord with J.W. Mickey McGee Park and Les Myers Park. The Carolina Thread Trail segment comprises roughly 1-mile of the larger 4-mile Downtown Greenway Loop. Additional information and a map of the 4-mile system is available here. The "Downtown Connector" section is a part of the Carolina Thread Trail. It is composed of a wide paved trail for pedestrians and bicyclists (with helmets). Bathrooms are located at J.W. Mickey McGee park.

Parts of the trail consist of long low-lying wood paths over wetlands. There are a series of Lifetrail exercise stations along the trail, which provide opportunities and directions for a circuit workout along the way. In addition, there are several covered picnic shelters scattered throughout the trail. It is perfect for exercise, a picnic, or a connection to downtown.

Other Information

*Special note: The Thread Trail designated section of this trail system is the McEachern Greenway Downtown Connector. Other segments of the Downtown Greenway Loop are located on neighborhood sidewalks. Cyclists continuing on the non-Thread Trail segments should be aware of this distinction and heed traffic patterns.
