Description

The Masons Bend Trail is a winding 1.9-mile natural surface trail running adjacent to the new Masons Bend community.   It connects directly into the Founders Trail and provides outstanding views of the Catawba River.  It also traverses the new Masons Bend development.  The trail corridor along the river has historical importance in the area.  The Catawba River has provided farming, hunting and fishing for the Native Americans and settlers who came later.  Years later a former quarry near present day Masons Bend was used for the stone that built the Lake Wylie Dam, just a few miles to the north.

Masons Bend Trial shares a trailhead parking area with Founders Trail.  Follow the river north to enjoy the Masons Bend Trail or south to experience the Founders Trail that will eventually lead you to Riverwalk and another four miles of Carolina Thread Trail.
