Little Sugar Creek Greenway - Tyvola Road to I-485 (Huntingtowne Farm Park) Segment

This section of Little Sugar Creek Greenway was extended to I-485 for a 4.8-mile stretch. It provides connectivity between a number of amenities including a playground, tennis courts, basketball courts, soccer fields, and a picnic shelter.

Description

The trail is relatively flat and paved, thereby making it easy for walkers, runners, and bikers alike. It is part of the 49 miles of the Mecklenburg greenway system in addition to being a apart of Carolina Thread Trail system. The 4.8-mile section runs along side Little Sugar Creek, a beautiful and critical habitat.

There a number of bridges connecting to the neighborhoods and Park Road Park. The 124-acre park features a brand new playground, baseball and softball fields, an 11-acre pond with a pier and lighted tennis courts.

2/11/23: Spotted daffodils in full bloom, most likely the bulbs were replanted by the local squirrel population. Also spotted two bucks in the woods (creek side). It was a nice day for a run.
