Description

This 1.8-mile section of the Torrence Creek Greenway is included in the Carolina Thread Trail. The Thread Trail section is part of the larger Torrence Creek Network which has a total of 2.4 miles of trail. The greenway winds through woods and behind neighborhoods off Gilead Road in Huntersville. The trail, which is a combination of paved surface and boardwalk, is suitable for walking, running, and paved surface biking. The greenway is one of the many greenways maintained by Mecklenburg County.

For much of the segment, the trail hugs Torrence Creek. Trail visitors will experience a variety of scenery including views of the creek, a nearby meadow, and interesting rock formations found along the trail. A branch of the trail also connects users to the Rosedale Shopping Center
