This section of the Carolina Thread Trail consists of a sidewalk connection which is 0.27-mile in length as well as a greenway which is 0.73-mile in length. A railroad runs along the length of the greenway. Although much of the length of this greenway is not shaded, there is a small garden which offers a place to rest with a bench near the Carolina Thread Trail's sign. This greenway is relatively flat, paved, and is marked for two directions of travel. It runs along 1st Street West and is easily visible from the road.
